Our Story

Iva Chatman started working as a Nursing Technician that operated EKG machines and decided to completely change course and attend cosmetology school, then barber school. She also received certification to teach barber school. Mix all of this experience together, and fast forward a few years, and this ambitious lady now runs the Miracle Miracles Barber School in Belleville, Illinois.What separates the Miracle Miracles Barber School from other barber schools is that it also offers an education in cosmetology. This helps the barber students to diversify their skills so they can help a variety of customers that ask for all types of hair styles and care. The public can make appointments with the students. Mrs. Chatman's goal is to find ways to help people develop the skills to obtain decent paying jobs that create self-pride, independence and financial stability.

Miracle Miracles offers a 1500 hour course where, upon completion, students graduate as licensed barbers. What differentiates Miracle Miracles from other schools is that it also offers an education in cosmetology. Throughout the curriculum, students will have the opportunity to work in a variety of environments such as: School Districts throughout St. Clair County; Beauty Workshops & Conferences; Partnering beauty and barber shops; and Community events

We provide free haircuts to seniors and those in homeless shelters. Our students learn a range of skills including cuts, styling, and shaving techniques.

We enjoy serving the organizations by giving free haircuts in the communites such as the Jackie Joyner Center, Juvenile Center, Nursing homes, Behavioral Centers and Homeless Shelters. We have partnered with Public Schools, The Peoples Clinic and All Nanna's Kids Closet Coat Giveaway providing free haircuts to children and adults.
